Feel embraced. Feel yourself. Feel recognized.
The first time I’ve read a feminist I felt embraced. In every word, I found my struggles and my loneliness. I’ve felt seen and recognized behind the skin, the beauty patrons, the social prejudgments and the gender roles. Feminism gave me the words to express what threatens our society: sexism, patriarchy, power and abuse.
And it gave me a community to reframe the context: fight, be proud and be yourself. Feminism helped me to name my wounds and to heal as a part of a collective, and that is what I want for this space: connect, flourish and speak out.
My name is Lina López.
